Motorsport Body and Head Protection for Supercars and Performance Cars
This section covers the protective equipment worn on the body rather than the fire resistant clothing: frontal head restraints, their tethers and anchors, rib and chest protectors, neck collars, body armour and padded belts. A frontal head restraint is the most important item here, because it limits how far the head moves forward relative to the torso in a frontal impact and takes load that would otherwise pass through the neck. Restraints are built to FIA standards, they are labelled, and their tethers have a service life of their own. We supply protective equipment for supercars and performance cars and deliver across Dubai and the UAE, to India, and worldwide.
What This Collection Covers
- Frontal head restraints: shoulder mounted head and neck restraint devices labelled to an FIA standard, including the 8858-2010 specification and the earlier 8858-2002 one.
- Tethers and anchor hardware: replacement tethers in fixed and sliding types, helmet anchor posts, clips and fitting kits.
- Restraint sizing and angle options: different collar sizes and seat back angles so the device matches your seat and build.
- Rib and chest protectors: moulded and padded protectors used mainly in karting for impacts against the seat.
- Neck collars and neck braces: foam and moulded collars used in karting and off road disciplines.
- Body armour and padded vests: torso and shoulder protection for disciplines where impacts against the cockpit are common.
- Kidney and back belts: support belts for rough surface and off road competition.
- Knee, elbow and shin protection: padding for tight cockpits and kart use.
- Bags, spares and fitting hardware: storage bags, replacement pads, posts and hardware kits.
Why It Matters
In a frontal impact the harness stops the torso quickly while the head, weighted by a helmet, keeps moving. A frontal head restraint transfers that load into the shoulders and the harness rather than the neck. This is the single most significant piece of personal safety equipment introduced to circuit racing in recent decades, and it is mandatory in a great many series for exactly that reason. It also only works with the right helmet posts, correctly positioned harness straps and a seat that lets the device sit properly against the shoulders.
The parts that wear are the ones people forget. Tethers are consumable items with a stated service life and they should be replaced according to the manufacturer's instructions, and any restraint involved in a significant impact should be inspected or replaced rather than reused on the assumption that it looks fine. Rib protectors and collars are simpler but still need to fit closely, because protection that moves on impact does very little.
How to Choose the Right Protection
Start with the regulations for your discipline. Many circuit series make a frontal head restraint mandatory and specify the standard it must meet, and some also specify shoulder strap widths and helmet post requirements to suit. Karting and off road disciplines have their own rules for rib protectors and collars. These requirements differ between series and sanctioning bodies and are revised between seasons, so read the current rulebook and check the homologation label and date on the device before you order.
Then size it to you and to the car. A head restraint is chosen by collar size and by the angle of your seat back, and it has to work with your helmet posts and your harness shoulder strap width, which is usually the narrower option when a restraint is used. Tell us your build, your helmet and whether it has posts fitted, the seat and its angle, the harness you run and the series you compete in. WhatsApp us on +971 50 308 5760 or send us an inquiry and we will confirm the right combination. We check the standard and the date on every labelled device before it ships, and we will not tell you a device is approved for your series, because that decision belongs to your rulebook and your scrutineer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which head restraint size and angle do I need?
Tell us your height and build, the seat you use and its back angle, your helmet make and model and whether it already has anchor posts, plus the shoulder strap width of your harness. Those five things determine the size and angle, not the car.
Do you ship to India and worldwide?
Yes. We deliver across Dubai and the UAE, to India, and worldwide, with cost and transit time confirmed before payment.
Are these items in stock?
Popular sizes and tether kits are frequently held. Specific sizes, angles and lightweight versions are sourced to order with the lead time confirmed first.
Are these genuine rated devices?
Yes. We supply genuine protective equipment from established manufacturers only. Counterfeit head restraints exist and they are worthless in an impact, so we buy through proper channels and confirm the label and its date before shipping.
The device or spare I need is not listed.
Ask us for it. send us an inquiry with the device, the size, the standard your series requires and your helmet details, and we will source it and confirm price and lead time.
Cannot see the protective equipment you need on this page? We can source almost any motorsport protection item you need. WhatsApp us on +971 50 308 5760 or send us an inquiry with the item and the discipline or car it is for, and we will come back with a price and a lead time.
