Battery Master Switches

Battery Master Switches for Supercars and Performance Cars

A battery master switch is the cut-off that kills the car's entire electrical system, including the engine, the fuel pumps and the alternator, from one control. It exists so that a driver can isolate the car after an incident and so that a marshal can do the same from outside without opening a door. Competition regulations set out where the external trigger goes, how it must be marked and what it must switch, so a master switch is a compliance item as well as an electrical component. We supply master switches, cut-off handles and the associated hardware for supercars and performance cars and deliver across Dubai and the UAE, to India, and worldwide.

What This Collection Covers

  • Rotary mechanical master switches: bolt through switches with a removable or fixed key, in two pole and multi pole versions.
  • Electronic and solid state cut-off units: electrically operated isolators triggered by buttons or by an external pull.
  • External cut-off handles and pull cables: bulkhead handles, cable kits and the mounting plates that put the trigger where a marshal expects it.
  • Alternator and charge circuit hardware: the extra terminals and resistors used so the engine stops and the charging circuit cannot back-feed when the switch is thrown.
  • Mounting panels and brackets: dash panels, bulkhead plates and brackets for a tidy, secure installation.
  • Required markings and labels: the blue triangle with a red spark that the technical regulations call for next to the external cut-off.
  • Cable, terminals and battery hardware: heavy gauge cable, lugs, insulated covers, battery boxes and tie down kits.

Why It Matters

After an accident the most useful thing anyone can do to a damaged car is take the electricity out of it. A cut-off stops fuel pumps running, stops sparks reaching leaked fuel and makes the car safe to approach. That is why the external trigger and its marking are specified so precisely: a marshal has seconds and cannot go looking for a switch.

It matters mechanically as well. A switch that only cuts the battery negative can leave an engine running on its own alternator output, so competition installations use the additional terminals and resistor arrangement that stops the engine and dumps the alternator's output safely. On a modern supercar with multiple control modules, where and how the switch is wired needs care, because an isolator fitted in the wrong place can cut power without cutting the circuits that matter.

How to Choose the Right Battery Master Switch

Check what your regulations require. Competition rules typically specify that the switch cuts all electrical circuits and stops the engine, that it is spark proof, that it can be operated by the driver while seated and belted in, and that there is an external trigger marked with a red spark on a blue triangle. The details, including the position of the external pull, differ between disciplines and sanctioning bodies, so read the current technical regulations for your series before you order.

Then choose by current rating and installation. The switch has to handle the starter current, not just the running load, and cable size, terminal type and mounting position all follow from that. On a supercar, wiring an isolator into a modern electrical architecture is skilled work and is best done by an auto electrician who has seen the car before. Tell us the car, the year and the exact variant, the series you run in and whether you need a mechanical or an electronic unit. Shipping and Availability

We deliver master switches and cut-off hardware across Dubai and the UAE, to India, and worldwide. Switches, handles, cable and labels are often in ready stock, and specific electronic units are sourced to order with the lead time confirmed before payment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which switch suits my car?
Tell us the car, the year and the exact variant, whether the car has a conventional alternator or a more complex charging system, and where you want the external pull to exit. We will confirm the switch type, current rating and cable specification.

Do you deliver to India and worldwide?
Yes. We deliver across Dubai and the UAE, to India, and worldwide, and confirm shipping cost and transit time before you pay.

Is this in stock or sourced to order?
Common mechanical switches, handles and labels are usually held. Electronic cut-off units and specific panel kits are often sourced to order, with the lead time confirmed first.

Are these genuine motorsport parts?
Yes. We supply genuine switches and cut-off equipment from established manufacturers. A counterfeit isolator that welds itself shut under starter current is exactly the failure you do not want, so we buy through proper channels only.

The switch or handle I need is not listed.
Ask us. send us an inquiry with the switch type, the current rating and the car it is going in, and we will source it and confirm price and lead time.

Not seeing the cut-off switch or handle you need on this page? We can source almost any battery isolation component for your car. WhatsApp us on +971 50 308 5760 or send us an inquiry with the part and the car it is for, and we will come back with a price and a lead time.
