Transmission Cooling for Supercars and Performance Cars
Gearboxes and differentials generate a lot of heat, and unlike the engine most of them have no radiator of their own from the factory. The oil inside is doing three jobs at once: lubricating gears and bearings, carrying friction heat away, and holding a film between loaded gear teeth. When that oil gets too hot it thins out, the film breaks down, and wear that would normally take years happens in an afternoon. Cooling hardware exists to stop that, and it becomes essential on cars used on track, on long high speed runs, or in hot climates. This section covers coolers, the pumps and plumbing that feed them, and the control and shielding parts that make an installation work properly. We supply transmission and differential cooling parts for supercars and performance cars, and we deliver across Dubai and the UAE, to India, and worldwide.
What This Collection Covers
- Gearbox oil coolers: oil to air coolers sized for transmission use, in stacked plate and tube and fin designs.
- Differential oil coolers: coolers plumbed to the differential or transaxle, where oil temperatures climb fastest on track.
- Oil to water heat exchangers: compact exchangers that use the car coolant circuit to stabilise transmission oil temperature.
- Cooler pumps: electric circulation pumps for systems that have no pressure feed of their own, with their wiring and control hardware.
- Lines, hoses and fittings: braided and hard lines, adaptors, unions, take off plates and the fittings that connect the circuit.
- Thermostats and sensors: thermostatic control so the oil warms up before it is cooled, plus temperature senders and gauges for monitoring.
- Fans, ducting and shrouds: cooling fans, ducts and shrouds that get air through a cooler mounted where airflow is limited.
- Mounting brackets and heat shielding: brackets, mounts, shielding and sleeving to keep the installation secure and away from exhaust heat.
Why It Matters
Transmission temperature is the failure mode nobody watches until they have had a problem. On a road car in normal use the oil rarely gets hot enough to matter. Put the same car on a circuit for a session, or run it hard in high ambient temperatures, and gearbox and differential oil can climb steadily with no way to shed the heat, because there is nothing cooling it but the casing. The result is thinner oil, less protection on loaded gear teeth, and on a limited slip differential a noticeable change in behaviour as the plates and the oil lose their properties. Adding a cooler holds the oil in the range it was designed for, so shifts stay consistent through a session and the hardware lasts. Fitting a temperature sensor at the same time is what turns this from guesswork into something you can actually see.
How to Choose the Right Transmission Cooling
Be honest about the use case, because a cooler on a car that never gets hot only slows warm up and can leave the oil too cold to work well. A road car in a hot climate that does occasional spirited driving usually does not need a cooler, though a temperature sender is cheap insight. A car doing regular track days is the classic case for a properly sized cooler with thermostatic control, on the gearbox, the differential or both depending on which runs hottest. A race car normally runs a pumped circuit with ducting and monitoring as standard. Packaging matters as much as capacity, especially on mid engined cars where airflow at the rear is limited, so the mounting position, ducting and line routing need thinking about at the same time as the cooler.
